1977 STAR WARS Original Japanese Studio One Sheet Poster 28-5/8 x 40-5/8 NM-Mint
This is an Original Japanese B1 One Sheet'Star Wars' Poster. It measures 28 5/8 x 40 5/8. There are no creases/folds, no pin holes, damage or discoloration. In my opinion it's a C10 Mint but it could be considered a C9 Near Mint. Im hedging my bets based on some extremely minor crinkling outside the ink border (that you can't see on front and was barely on back upon removal from tube) in an area that would have been on the outer edge when it was in the tube.
It was visible as it was coming out of the tube, after a few weeks being flat it's no longer visible at all and the inks not been affected in anyway. Ive taken very detailed pictures of the poster in sections and I encourage people to examine the photos closely for themselves. Im not aware of any damage to this item. This example has not been folded and instead only rolled. That alone puts this poster firmly in the upper echelon when it comes to conditon and rarity.
This poster comes from from the legendary memorabilia collection of Mr. Joe Johnston, Legendary Visual Effects Supervisor who provided Visual Effects on all 3 Original Star Wars Movies, and was promoted to Visual Effects Supervisor for Empire & Jedi, he also directed numerous major films for the last several decades including the original Jumanji, The Rocketeer, Honey I shrunk the kids and more recently, Captain America: the First Avenger. One being it's not something tangible like an autograph where everytime you look at it you can see why you paid a higher price, after all it's not like it displays any differently based on who owned it. I simply expect fair market value,'fair' being the keyword, and I don't think it needs a provenance of note to bring a market value asking price.
